Most present day hemp and CBD books paint a pretty picture of how CBD can heal countless ailments and diseases or how industrial hemp (used for rope, textiles, etc.) can “change the future”. Whereas, this is true, the hype surrounding this miracle plant and its healing properties for arthritis, anxiety, depression, pain, insomnia, and more, created a massively new “Gold Rush”, attracting top celebrities such as Mike Tyson, Dan Bilzerian, Tommy Chong, Kourtney Kardashian, Martha Stewart, and Megan Rapinoe.

What these ‘hemp can change the world’ books have failed to elaborate on, is a behind-the-scenes look at the business as well as the industry’s dark side. Just like its psychoactive cousin, Delta-9-THC, the cannabinoid CBD is derived from one plant, cannabis sativa. With the common plant retaining its stigma and taboo, the same demons haunt it.

Farmers, cowboys, hippies, businessmen and women, the penniless, and many other personalities jumped in to change their stars and their future.
